SUBJECT: Indian River County Committees - Annual Member Reappointments for 2026

BACKGROUND
On December 3, 2024, the Board reappointed the County Attorney’s Office to monitor member terms of certain committees.
Resolution 2011-072 sets out the following duties of the committee monitor: (1) contact all board appointed committee members whose terms will expire and determine whether those members want to be considered for reappointment, (2) present to the Board a list of all committee members requesting reappointment - at which time the Board will reappoint members from the list as it deems appropriate, and (3) create a list of committee vacancies and post them on the County website.
The County Attorney’s Office has contacted committee members whose term will expire. Attached to this memorandum is a list of those members who have requested reappointment. The Board should now review the list and make such reappointments as it deems appropriate.
It should be noted that in addition to those committee members not seeking reappointment, there are many existing vacancies. A list of the anticipated vacancies is attached for informational purposes.
BUDGETARY IMPACT
There is no cost to the County associated with this request.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
The County Attorney recommends that the Board consider the list of committee members requesting reappointment and reappoint such members as the Board deems appropriate.
