SUBJECT: Authorization Request for the Use of Unused Salary to Fund Temporary Infrastructure Project Manager

BACKGROUND
Contracted Labor has been used to augment temporary help on all levels from maintenance to engineering, for coverage when there is an increased volume of work and hard to fill technical positions that are currently posted. We already have a PO with this temp agency for other temporary workers.
ANALYSIS
To help the Engineering / Roadway division, a temporary Infrastructure Project Manager is coming on board. This temp is needed to offset the increased volume of work and unfilled positions in our Roadway section of Engineering.
BUDGETARY IMPACT
The cost for this temporary person is $94.38 per hour, $3,539.25 per week. The estimate for five months through the end of the fiscal year is $78,800. There is $285,509.65 left in Engineering unused salaries, Transportation Fund/County Engineering/Regular Salaries GL#11124441-011120.

Staff recommends that the Chairman authorize use of $78,800.00 in Engineering unused salaries, Transportation Fund/County Engineering/Regular Salaries GL#11124441-011120 to fund the temporary employee for five months.
