SUBJECT: Public Hearing for Ordinance Amending Code Indian River County Code Sections 102.01(1), and 102.01(4)

BACKGROUND
At the last Board meeting, the Board directed the County Attorney to prepare and advertise an ordinance amending Indian River Code Chapter 102 as follows:
Section 102.01(1). - This ordinance amends Indian River County Code (IRC) Section 102.01(1) to clarify that the Board of County Commissioners meets on the first and third Tuesday of the month and requires that the annual schedule of regular meetings be approved by the Board by the first meeting in November for the ensuing year.
Section 102.01(4). - Revises IRC Code Section 102.01(4) to allow Commissioners, Constitutional Officers and Government Agencies to submit an agenda item 10 days prior to the regular commissioner meeting and it requires the County Administrator to provide an agenda packet on or before close of business on the Thursday preceding the commission meeting.

BUDGETARY IMPACT
The cost of publication of the required public notice for the public hearing was $133.32. Funds in the amount of $133.32 are budgeted and available in General Fund/County Attorney/Legal ads account, number 00110214-034910.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
The County Attorney recommends that the Board conduct a public hearing on the proposed ordinance, take comment from interested persons, and approve the Ordinance amending Indian River County Code Sections 102.01(1), and 102.01(4).
