SUBJECT:                                           Annual Resolution Delegating Authority to Declare Local Emergencies to the County Administrator

BACKGROUND

The attached resolution delegates to the County Administrator, or his designee, the authority to declare states of local emergencies and to act in a State of Florida declared emergency affecting Indian River County from December 9, 2025, through December 31, 2026. This is an annual resolution to allow for seamless operations during emergencies.

 

ANALYSIS

This is a yearly resolution to allow for all necessary actions to take place during an state of emergency.

 

BUDGETARY IMPACT

None

 

PREVIOUS BOARD ACTIONS

A similar resolution is passed each year.

 

POTENTIAL FUTURE BOARD ACTIONS

An updated resolution will be brought in 2026.

Adopt the resolution delegating authority to the County Administrator, or his designee, to declare a state of emergency and to act in a state declared emergency affecting Indian River County effective from December 9, 2025 through December 31, 2026.
