SUBJECT: Revision to AM-301.1 Payroll/Salary Administration

BACKGROUND
Administrative Policy AM-301.1 Payroll/Salary Administration identifies information related to the County's payroll period and classification and pay plans. In addition, this policy sets forth provisions related to call-back pay, standby assignments, temporary assignment and crew leader pay for non-union employees. Staff is recommending revisions to the plan that:
• Reflect current payroll processes and classification records
• Align our pay plans to reflect class headings as updated during the compensation and classification study
• Define long-term illness as more than 30 days
• Establish special assignment incentive
• Include the automobile allowance provision
