SUBJECT: Designation of Excess Equipment as Surplus, Authorization for Disposal, and Approval of Donation
__________________________________________________________________
BACKGROUND
The equipment on the attached list has been determined excess to the needs of Indian River County and requires disposal in accordance with Florida Statutes and Comptroller Division Policies. Items indicated for disposal will be sold by online auction, and funds received from the sale of these items will be returned to the appropriate accounts.
ANALYSIS
Additionally, due to an accident claim, Risk Management has recently acquired a non-working, Baja Sun three-wheeled bicycle. Staff would like to donate this bike to Bike Walk Indian River County, Inc. for their program use.
Finally, on December 9, 2025, the Board authorized the sale of asset 9395 0, a large safe from the Tax Collector’s office. The safe failed to sell at multiple auctions and staff requests we re-classify this item as disposed of.
BUDGETARY IMPACT
There is no cost to the County associated with these requests.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Recommended Action
Staff recommends the Board declare the items on the Excess List for 032426 as surplus, and authorize their disposition, as indicated, reclassify the disposition of asset 9395 0, and authorize the donation of a bicycle to Bike Walk Indian River County, Inc.
